Malaysia Airlines has launched a new mobile phone service that allows passengers to book, pay, check in and board their flights using their mobile phone. Developed in conjunction with SITA Lab, Malaysia Airlines says its flymas.mobi platform provides the most comprehensive menu of mobile phone functionality available to airline passengers anywhere in the world.

Jetstar Network Grows In Asia

Jetstar has launched its first route into China and added extra flights to Phuket (HKT) from Singapore and Australia. On Dec. 15 Jetstar boosted two routes by adding a second daily flight on the Singapore (SIN)–Phuket route and increased flights on its Sydney (SYD)–Phuket service from three to five per week.

Short-Term Capacity Cuts At JAL

As Japan Airlines fights to improve profitability it has announced reductions in capacity on five international routes. The cuts are expected to last two to three months starting January 2010.
