Japan Airlines’ partners in the oneworld alliance have declared their support for the airline and are asserting that oneworld is the best alliance for JAL, and the best way to maintain trans-Pacific and regional competition. This follows Delta Air Lines’ and SkyTeam’s offer of USD 1 million investment in JAL in November, which included compensation for the cost involved in switching alliances from oneworld to SkyTeam.

V Australia has launched new services from Melbourne (MEL) to Los Angeles (LAX) and Phuket (HKT). Virgin Blue’s long-haul international carrier will fly to the United States twice a week using Boeing 777-300 aircraft with a three-class cabin including 33 fully lie-flat beds in International Business, 40 International Club seats in Premium Economy and 288 economy seats.
