Airline manufacturer Boeing predicts that Asia Pacific will become the largest air travel market in the world within the next decade. Speaking to the press on a recent visit to Thailand, Randy Tinseth, Boeing Commercial Airplanes vice-president of marketing, said that while airlines and the aviation industry in general have been hurt by the financial crisis, data indicates the economic downturn has reached bottom and recovery has begun.

Senior executives from Dubai’s state-owned Emirates Airline have said Dubai’s debt crisis will not affect the carrier’s independence or orders with Boeing and Airbus. Earlier this month, the airline announced a profit of USD 205 million and an 18 percent increase in passengers between April and September 2009.
