Following the opening of its 50th property in China, the Sheraton Jinan Hotel, Starwood Hotels & Resorts announced it is on track reach its target of 100 hotels in China by 2012. China now has the largest number of Starwood hotels outside of North America, and it has the largest pipeline of new hotels outside of the United States.

Qatar Airways has added its ninth Indian destination to its growing network. The carrier now flies four-times-a week between its Doha (DOH) hub and Amritsar (LUH) in the northern state of Punjab. The colourful city of Amritsar is home to the famous Golden Temple, the holy place of worship for the Sikh religion — a site that is said to draw more visitors annually than the Taj Mahal.
