The European Union’s recent decision to lift the ban on four Indonesian airlines from operating within Europe was met with relief in Indonesia and was welcomed by the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines. Following a series of military and commercial plane crashes, the four airlines — Mandala Airlines, Airfast Indonesia, Prime Air and state-owned flag carrier Garuda Indonesia — were banned from E.U. airspace in 2007.
